Men and Women Have had two completely different societal roles in China. Men are the ones who get the better paying jobs, while the woman are at home taking care of the children. For the longest time women were "Supposed" produce boys. Women in China have really had a hard life of abuse and inequality. New laws for women equality have been made but women are still not treated as equals ("Women in china:," 1995).

The Globalization of China is helping the world because it is one of the leaders in technology.  In the last 20 years china has had an annual growth rate of over 9.3% on average. It is now the 6th largest economy and 5th largest trading nation in the world. 200 million people have been brought out of poverty between this time.

There is two ways that China goes about keeping its national culture. The first is the state strategy that tries to reinforce the official version of national Chinese culture. Then there is individuals who go about ways to preserve their culture. many of which happen in small communities who practice local customs and traditions along with cultures and diversity. The state struggles to preserve an official culture because destruction of traditional buildings and cultural heritage sites are their main focus of advancement.
